چکیده
Drought monitoring is essential to determine, at short time intervals, the main characteristics of drought events, such as their duration, severity, and spatial distribution. To ensure that represents a useful tool for governmental plans aimed preventing or minimizing impacts, up-to-date information must be instantaneously accessible it provide high temporal resolution. This study presents system allows automatic tracking meteorological droughts in Spanish territory, based on an open easy-to-use online platform (https://monitordesequia.csic.es/monitor). provides two synthetic indices: Standardised Precipitation Index (SPI) Evapotranspiration (SPEI). Information provided quasi-weekly basis, grid format, with resolution 1.1*1.1 km, data from 1961 present time. monitor updated real-time gathered stations, which turn requires historic identify track events. The indices are obtained processing (quality control, series reconstruction, homogenisation, interpolation, validation) using climatic variables (maximum minimum temperatures, solar radiation, rainfall, dew point, wind speed) by Meteorology Agency Ministry Agriculture Government. We performed validation whole historical period (1961–2020). allowed us observe strong agreement between dataset dataset, especially mainland Spain Balearic Islands (Pearson's r, SPI SPEI >0.99). presented relevant quick effective actions prevent mitigate effects society ecosystems.

Drought Management: the Role of Near- Real Time Weather Data
Donald A. Wilhite and Kenneth G. Hubbard Center for Agricultural Meteorology and Climatology University of Nebraska Lincoln, Nebraska The ability to collect weather data in near-real time has improved because of technological advances, enabling weather data users to obtain more weather data over wider areas, and in a more timely fashion. The number of near-real time climate networks is increasi...
متن کاملReal-time Weather Monitoring Using Underwater Acoustics
Acoustic rain gauges have long been espoused as a possible means of monitoring wind and rainfall in regions far from land-based measurements. The rapid provision of data from such systems could contribute to weather forecasting. This paper provides an overview of a recent equipment trial off Galway, during which wind speeds in excess of 30m s -1 were encountered. The deployment also tested the ...
متن کاملHigh-resolution near real-time drought monitoring in South Asia
Drought in South Asia affect food and water security and pose challenges for millions of people. For policy-making, planning, and management of water resources at sub-basin or administrative levels, high-resolution datasets of precipitation and air temperature are required in near-real time. We develop a high-resolution (0.05°) bias-corrected precipitation and temperature data that can be used ...
متن کاملReal-time cosmic ray monitoring system for space weather
[1] We have developed a real-time system to monitor high-energy cosmic rays for use in space weather forecasting and specification. Neutron monitors and muon detectors are used for our system, making it possible to observe cosmic rays with dual energy range observations. In large solar energetic particle (SEP) events, the ground level enhancement (GLE) can provide the earliest alert for the ons...
متن کاملVISATRAM: a real-time vision system for automatic traffic monitoring
This paper presents a novel approach to automatic traffic monitoring using 2D spatiotemporal images. A TV camera is mounted above a highway to monitor the traffic through two slice windows, and a panoramic view image and an epipolar plane image are formed for each lane. Our real-time vision system for automatic traffic monitoring, VISATRAM, is an inexpensive system with a PC486 and a frame grab...
